good beach location, very peaceful and ultra quiet. Friendly management and staff but little in the way of facilities, nice pool though. Nice clean rooms but very basic furnished.Has potential to offer more but needs investment, in the meantime good for those short stays on a budget.

Having travelled exstensively in Sri Lanka . I found the owner friendly. The room booked was not available for the first night and a discount was offered immediatly. The rooms are large with a a large balcony over looking the beach The decor pink walls and lilac curtains certainly needs updating. The inclusive breakfast was excellent.The pool was small, but clean and adquate. Good Wi Fi.

Nice staff, very bad management.

You can not trust this bad hotel!!! During your stay they change policy and price! (suddenly 55 dollar more) The hotel room had a cockroach, little water for showering, no windows and bad food. The location is minimum two hours from the airport and there is less to do. The sea is too rough for swimming.

Green Shadows Beach is a small establishment and it provides privacy and value for money. The location is ideal for a quiet break. The staff were excellent and they attended to the guests, treating them like individuals. The breakfast was cooked to order and was good value for money.

I was charged more than the original quote. I paid $18 more + service charge and VAT. As I didn't notice it till the last day, I could not ask for a refund as the manager was not around. The Wi Fi was not working on the first night but staff soon sorted it out. There was no hot water one evening and the next morning but again when reported the staff sorted it out. On my last day, the manager expected me to pay for an extra breakfast in spite of having paid for B&B for the entire duration of my booking at time of booking. This was an error and was rectified straight away.

The noisy a/c worked, the shower was hot and the breakfast of fruit juice and eggs was fine if rather predictable after a few days and you can't beat the location on the beach. The price is great and perfect if you're on a budget

Ageing small beach hotel which doesn't appear to have much money spent on it and therefore is falling behind all its nearby competition which are benefiting from the upswing in tourism post-civil war and tsunami. The rooms were tired and little was done to improve the comfort of guests - even a fan in the outdoor dining room would have helped in the humid conditions. Just a small amount of investment and improvement in standards would work wonders for this establishment - serving warm beer in 36c doesn't help either.

This was just perfect for us! Very nice little hotel just on the beach for good price. Natural place, where you can see cows walking on the beach and hundreds of crabs at nights. From your own balkony you can see also "flying dogs" -very big bats flying. No "masstourism".You can just relax and enjoy. Only few minutes to shops. Very friendly staff and manager! Everything was positive. This place we want to go again! Mr Pontikka & Ms Big Boss

the owner added service and tax on the stated price making a difference of 60 dollars. the bathroom door was hanging off and the tv wouldn't work

The hotel is located right on the beach. .

The pool was never cleaned, the room was never cleaned and the tv did not work. A notice on the tv said no service subscription not paid
